Project Transformation is a ministry initiative that started in the North Texas Conference in 1998, since its conception it has grown to 6 annual conferences around the country. Project Transformation ministers in three primary areas. 1– Children: the program works with inner city kids to help them maintain or improve reading levels over the summer. 2– College Students: College Students design and implement the day camp environment for elementary age kids. 3– Churches: programs are held in churches looking to improve their interactions in their neighborhoods.
Euless First is getting involved to help the program at First Bedford UMC this summer. We need your help. Here is how we are getting involved:
1 – We have agreed to contribute all or part of the $3,500 needed to cover the intern’s living stipend and room & board.
2 – Provide dinners during the summer for around 30 people, plus the number of volunteers you are bringing, on June 8th and July 18th. This will be an opportunity to eat with the interns and learn about their experiences with the children at the different sites. We will also be lending emotional support and encouragement to them. (NOTE: Food must be brought to Polytechnic UMC by 5:30 p.m.)
3- Donate supplies for one week of summer programming for one site. Here are items that are needed:
Black Sharpies, Black Ball Point Pens, Pencils, Colored Pencils, Markers, Crayons, Masking Tape, Scotch Tape, Glue Sticks, Scissors, Craft Paint, Paint Brushes, Construction Paper, Notebook Paper, Pocket Folders , Spiral Notebooks, Manilla Folders, Index Cards, Post-It Notes, Butcher Paper (Various Colors), Butcher Paper Cart, Stick-on Name Tags, File Folder crates (6)
