SATURDAY, DECEMBER 15                          ISAIAH 12:2-6                                    ANICIA BROWN
2God is indeed my salvation; I will trust and won’t be afraid. Yah, the Lord, is my strength and my shield; he has become my
salvation.” 3  You will draw water with joy from the springs of salvation. 4 And you will say on that day: “Thank the Lord; call
on God’s name; proclaim God’s deeds among the peoples; declare that God’s name is exalted. 5 Sing to the Lord, who has done
glorious things; proclaim this throughout all the earth.” 6 Shout and sing for joy, city of Zion, because the holy one of Israel
is great among you.

The best present I ever got? Honestly, I don’t remember. But what I do remember is the Christmases loved ones would take
time and sometimes great expense to come to see us… At age 6, perhaps, I remember the family receiving a record player, a big
console one! But overshadowing that gift was the memory of my Aunt Pat flying in from Vermont. She was a tall and beautiful
woman who loved us with laughter and showed us how to do a fashion show! Another gift I remember is my first phone, a light
blue princess phone. But the bigger memory that year was the big party we had in our tiny house when all of our six family
members were each allowed to invite four of our best friends over to eat a huge Filipino feast that my mom took all day to
make. Oh. My. Goodness! Family, Friends, food, and fun! One of my most favorite memories! And more recently, I remember
getting a beautiful diamond necklace. But that paled in comparison to the surprise visit that my daughter made all the way
from Chicago. I guess it all fits with the main theme of this holiday. For God so loved the world that He gifted us with a visit
from and time spent with His only Son. I would challenge anyone to disagree that presence beats presents every time!

Prayer: For those that are away from loved ones.
